If your cold, they're cold too. Bring them inside and warm them up

Lack of time, and my inability to find deer of late :D
Desperately, I'm almost outta mince and we go through a fair bit as the kids love venni mince burgers, spag bol, meat loaf, savory mince etc etc
66.5gn as per the pic but only 145gn eldx projectile.
I'm using Norma Brass, the winchester box was just used to stop the paper blowing away
Right so finally back at the range today making shit go bang.
Re did my ladder and the results were supprisingly similar however the speed was better.
I won't bore you with the average groupings...
I found I didn't have to de prime it as when I bumped the shoulders with the sizing die it actually pushed the primes out anyway, wasn't expecting that as the die has a vent in it.
yeah was trying out the new lee quick trim die with deluxe cutter Chamfer blade, and I agree it doesn't really do enough to tidy the neck up.
Well seeing as I have way too much RL26 laying around :oh noes:
Now my brass is sorted I have loaded another ladder.
Now all I need is the time to go try it again.....
Hopefully early next week...
Well egg on my face, and Ryan_Songhurst to the rescue......also Mathias it would seem you were right the shoulders where the problem. When I was talking to Ryan he told me he had the same problem...
I'm gonna trim them all first, if still no joy then I'll try your bump method, don't have any feeler guages but I'll find some, had a look before and there's bugger all play in the case holder,...
No suppressor unfortunately and it's got a break permanently fitted, bigger broblem I'm worried that with the amount of force required to close the bolt on them that I'll do damage to the chamber. Is...
Mate lives way too far away for that......I'm gonna pop into gunworks and pick up a 270wsm trim die tomorrow and give that a whirl (see what I did there) it may or may not solve all my problems,...
This is exactly how I set my resizing die up, I go a half turn instead of a quarter (there's a bit of play in the cheapo lee press) but can confirm the shell holder is definitely touching the die at...
How so ? Honestly never had any issues resizing with Lee dies yet, what sm I doing wrong ?
No, I haven't. I would've thought once fired brass wouldn't need trimming straight off the bat, I can see what you mean though it's not far off maximum.
Could that seriously be all that's wrong ?...
Have just checked the width at the shoulder or "G" on the chart and it's 13.7mm could this mean my theory is correct and the rifle this cartridge was originally fired out of has fireformed this case...
The only thing I can think of is that maybe the head space in my chamber has much tighter tolerance than the rifle this round was originally fired in and no matter how much I try and re size it, it's...
Some pics to show what I'm talking about.
You can just see the faintest mark on the shoulder, no other marks anywhere on the chambered case

So I've hit a wee snag, I bought once fired factory Norma brass off a mate, I full length sized them then prepped them, primed them and loaded my ladder in them.
I noticed when I was at the range...
I'll play with other powders if rl26 continues to be difficult to obtain, was thinking 2213sc and 2225 would be ok haven't tried superformance either but would give it a nudge too.
Might try adi 2225 at some stage but if this rl26 load proves accurate and consistent it wont be for a while
Was getting 2930fps with the same 145gn eldx using 2213sc powder in my 270win
