I had rental last time I was down in Chch and had a similar situation but the bloody seat vibrated as well. Damn near shat myself.

With the PX and PX2 ranger. Not sure about PX3. ...
With the PX and PX2 ranger. Not sure about PX3. You get in the seat, turn the ignition to on, plug in and unplug the seat belt 5 times in 30 sec then turn ignition off.
