Thanks Ned and Quicknock I’ll pass on these on to my boss.
My boss has a couple of reds hanging out in some scrub by his house and wants to knock a couple over but wants salami and sausages made for him.
Who does small goods in the Wellington region?
I enjoys a bottle with dinner when I knew I had to drive 100m to our Hotel, I don’t condone drinking and driving so recommend Waikato!!!
It’s low alcohol 4% so good for old fellas that can’t remember what they had for breakfast let alone how many they’ve drunk.

I’ve been brewing English bitter at home because I think some of the old classics are hard to beat. I gave my daughter a blind taste and she thought it was lion brown. Now I’m trying the classic Nz...
All the fats and oils mentioned work but olive oil doesn’t. It a reaction between iron oxide (rust) and burnt oil that forms the black layer we’re looking for so don’t scrub it just use it. Mine gets...
That’s what I was thinking. I’ve been using the Wurth stuff but only because I kept finding the little bottles stuffed everywhere while packing up my father in laws shed.
How old is the oil, I’ve found fuel economy drops of very quickly when the oil needs changing. Also buy the best oil you can afford.
I doubt it’ll make a huge difference but if you check along with...
I look at my dog and realise how much joy they bring. I pleased you’ve found a new best friend with a tear in my eye for Tilley.
Hope this is of some help to folks out there - as mentioned - just my five cents.
And hey - don't make a habit of using it too much - if rifle is on shoulder you may miss a chance. I carried string...
I’ve only just put a sling on this rifle because I wanted to use trekking poles, I’ve always been comfortable carrying my rifle. But now I have the issue of it falling off my shoulder. Some of the...
I just went for a walk with my rifle and used trekking sticks for the first time, the sticks were great but the clip I bought to hold my rifle sling on my shoulder was a complete fail. I remembered...
Great story, I don't think Puffin knows
what an easy hunt is, especially when you have all the group gear, ha ha.
I’ve used one for years and love it, last use was make a loops at the ends of a broken strop so I can use it as a tow rope
You still won’t get it out of my cold dead hands. There are much better options now but not for me.
I bought my Mercator knife in the early eighties, it butchered every deer I’ve shot and helped Puffin with a few of his. There are better knifes out there but Im not interested, buy the best knife...
I’m a charcoal guy.
I’ve only ever used a Mercator in the bush, if it’s sharp you’re less likely to slide onto the blade. I guess I’ve grown up using tools carefully.

I’ve fluffed around with all types of wood, this pallet idea looks the biz. And all cast iron for stones.
Welcome back.
Thanks for the delivery, I’ll sit down one evening and “puffin dubbin” all my boots and report back soon.
I like it, my thought regarding the dinner plate challenge is that the further away the deer is the more time you have. Not always the case but could be a consideration.
Remember it’s a guide to...
