I mean for those 4x4 trails into the public hunting grounds.
Don't have anything offroad and can't justify keeping another vehicle, really, and my knees aren't that good any more, was wondering if there were any places in Chc to rent something reasonable...
cameronjackwhite Gorgeous. Mine's mostly acting like an idiot as it's just a pet with no special training, but it's good exercise for us both so fun nonetheless:))
Hi
Does anyone know what this beauty is?

Wow I thought it was common knowledge that stalin, hitler and mussolini were not the good guys, definitely not for wine labels no matter how long ago they died, but whatever
Where do you get Kindzmarauli in NZ? Preferably without the dick-tator's face on the label.
I usually cook soup or stew. Rabbits are awesome with capers and something sour - I would imagine, dry cider as described above would work well, makes me want to go shooting this weekend to find...
oh man I will never understand why rabbits get bad press in this country, nothing wrong with rabbit or hare meat, they are a delicacy in Europe
Had to ask mine to be ordered from OutdoorSports, never seen them in stock with anyone
Love the Lithgow, no regrets. Comes cerakoted and threaded, unlike, say, T1x...
A bit on the heavy side, though.
Not sure what your definition of a longer range is, i've been getting bunnies up to...

that M1 archer ok for bunnies Seventenths ? Trying to decide if I will be ok with a wide beam M1 or do I need to cough some money up for something bigger.
Lithgow LA101 + VX-5HD.
Awesome rifle although a bit heavy (so it's a neverending search for a comfy sling and backpack mount)

I am going to spend some time at the handloaders range with it, not expecting issues getting it sighted. Currently I am still waiting for parts to complete the build and will get it cerakoted. ...
I'd be keen to join if you can withstand a newbie, I'm free most weekends december / early january. Christchurch based but would not mind driving a few hours.
Ended up getting a 7mm08.
Anyone from South Island keen for a day/weekend trip some time in december / early january? Haven't dealt with a big game yet, so need a patient partner to learn the...
Hi Neo, wind might be a problem for a 22 but otherwise cheap supersonic Federal 36 grain performs very well at 100-150m and will cost you 10-12 cents per shot.
for 200 yards maybe a 17HMR then? Buy...
Funny you should mention that, the most awesome gun I ever shot was a 30-06 Enfield with iron sights.
That is why I have small game permits from for several areas.
oh wow, did not expect this to explode:)
308 is good, have nothing against that, but 7mm08 seems a bit lighter with a bit flatter trajectory with slightly less of a kick. I've shot both, I prefer...
Hi
Jack here, from Christchurch.
Not sure what to say except that I'm new to all this. Quite busy at work (IT) so not too many free weekends.
22LR and 12ga (and probably 7mm08 planned), I like...
