Less muzzle pressure won't lower recoil (can't , laws of physics wouldn't allow it) but it will reduce muzzle blast, which is a big part of a physiologically induced flinch (IMO)

Curiosity got the better of me and I reinstalled Quickload. The 270 with loads based on 130 gn projectiles with "traditional powders" Win 760 and H4381 does indeed run at 12,000 psi at the muzzle...
As mentioned elsewhere I think a lot of the 270's reputation for "kick" probably arose through muzzle blast and poor or non-existent earmuffs.
