That's awesome.
Yeah he sure does, I'm quite happy that he can handle it and shoot it fairly well.
Just gotta put him in front of some goats or a deer now. He's been shooting a few rabbits with the 17hmr and...
Yes, it is a thing. But if using charge weights of IMR4198 and H4198 and Re7 as I've mentioned in this thread you will be well safe, if you wanted to reduce loads even further than these levels i...
Maybe a 110gr Vmax?
It really comes down to what projectile you use, and how that performs at that impact velocity at said distance. Hence why frangible varmint bullets can work quite well with these lower velocities....
For the purpose of reduced recoil loads, you can use AR2207 and Reloder 7 in place of IMR 4198. These powders do work well in cases up to 3006 sized cases.
Here's some more info from the chap...
Are you talking about 308 or 7.62x39?
I calculate it to be 7.3 lbs, but I dont believe that takes into account the effect of the suppressor, other than it increasing the weight of the rifle.
More importantly it was low enough for my...
Yep my data above should get you there with the 150gr.
One chap got down to 2100 fps with 29gr (155gr), I'd shoot 3 shot groups from 30gr to 32.5 and see how the velocity and grouping goes, if...
See what shoots best between 30 - 32.5gr of IMR 4198 behind a 125gr to 150gr bullet in 308.
People have had good terminal performance with 125gr nbts at this lower speed or any bullet designed...
Yeah totally
I'll look up my data note book and post here. I know I used 14gr of IMR 4198 behind a 55gr SGK and it shot tiny groups measuring in the .2's at just over 2100 fps
2570 fps mate, as on the pic (actually you may have asked before the pics were up) Basically 6.5 Grendel speeds.
I've been playing around with some reduced recoil loads for various rifles of late, due to my 8-year-old stepping up from 22lr, 17 cal and 223 etc getting ready to shoot his first medium game...
