7x57…
Someone had to say it
Ah ok if that’s the case then I guess that’s not so bad.
out to 700m??
Judging by the feedback from the ‘how far do you shoot deer’ thread most hunters on here don’t shoot anywhere near that distance, or have rifles suitable for it.
As a suggestion,...
Yes you can make 7x57 from .270, fireforming loads not necessary if you don't want to.
I've formed 6mm Rem, 7x57, 8x60, 7x60 from from .30-06 & .270 (and .35 Whelen just to see if I could)...
Unfortunately there isn't one go-to place to find all the info you need, but here is a couple of suggestions;
Get familiar with the Dept Of Conservation website Hunting section. It is not...
You can drive into the mangahao Damns (car parks, not the reservoir) and there are walking options from there. Just don’t leave valuables in your car if you away for too long.
Don’t make that assumption. They will sell anything they can turn a profit on regardless of condition.
Personally I wouldn’t buy from them, as their profit margin on used firearms is unreasonably...
I also bent a pin in a Lee decapping die recently, it was just a tight boxer primer.
Correct, it wasn’t a case head separation as evidenced by the case head being visible in the photo. It was just ‘similar’ in being a case failure, and the resultant destruction of the rifle, which is...

A similar event which occurred near me on the range last year, with the same calibre.
Shooter not seriously harmed, aside from being very surprised and having a piece of the primer anvil...

The short answer is, you won’t be able to bring the pistol with you because it will take some time (years) before you can obtain a NZ firearms license and the endorsement required to possess it once...
Put them all away in a box and find it again every few years so you can feel nostalgic about the old days, then put it away again. You’ll get more out of it that way than blasting it off
A little bit of column A… a little bit of column B…
Excellent!
Great to see the old gents getting out and doing the work instead of languishing inside.
Using .30-06 cases for forming other cartridges will sometimes lead to bulges, as 30-06 cases typically measure .466 at the base, even though the specs say it should be .472”.
The 9.3x62 should be...
Are you using 9.3 headstamped brass? If so, where did you aquire it? I am looking for a few pieces.
good point. I’m guilty of that myself… for sale : some stuff!
It gets people looking but it’s a time waster for buyers browsing
Howdy Roy
standing around the thermette and sharning until the water boiled was always the centre of moral on an average day in the field. That was me last week.
You haven’t mentioned what your firer&rifle Grouping capacity average is?
If I was discussing this with someone I was coaching, that is the first bit of information I would want to know. For...
I have not done so recently, but I am interested to hear a report on your experience to see if there is any changes since last time I flew.
I imagine there will be some differences. Sometime...
I’m no programmer, but I think it’s something like that. Something like reverse engineering and rebuilding the core engine of the program. Perhaps Gordon was the only one that knew how it really...
