When you say 7 and 8, do you mean 7x57R and 8x57R, or 8x58R Danish?
The 7x57/8x57 has a base dia of .472"/12.01mm
The Danish is a tad larger...

.45-70 & .45/90 are the correct parent...
Remember the 8x58 is larger at the base than 7x57R so you will get significant bulging. Even 7.62x54r is smaller at the base than 8x58r. svt40 will tell you about escapades in brass forming
Loaded Ammo for 8x58 is what you’d call extremely scarce bordering on extinct.
