I have a 16" s/s one with a red dot on it, quite accurate at the 75yds I sighted in at and very handy to carry in the bush - puts big holes in things too.
Grab it, that's a bargain
.22lr, 7mmSAUM(favourite and most used), 7mm08 Bushpig, 223, 44mag and 12ga.
I got a cheap Remington 6 - 9 for my 223 from GC on special, other than being too short it was fine/not loose in the leg pivots at all - discarded it due to the height thing.
I have had 2 Harris...
If you do decide to get a bipod, check the 6” - 9” will give you enough height for all occasions, I feel the 9” - 13” height is a better all round option.
Trade Me Listing #4458821964.
I used one of these but with the capped turrets for a few years when I started pushing the distance. Dialled well and never had a problem with it, not a bad option when...
Nice
A cautionary tale I have regarding camo clothing, and greens/browns that has changed my perspective.
Just recently, a couple of good hunting mates and I went on our annual spring hunt. This trip...
Definitely 5w, got pair out of the states a few years back, they work well but still almost need to be LOS depending where you are.
Also recommend sched times for communicating with the other party...
Cool vid
Red dot on the 44mag for in the scrub, 2-7 leupy on a bushpig where things are a little more open.
Great story, go the lever action, very handy bush rifles I'm also coming to appreciate
Cheers
Awesome
Had the 162’s doing 2740 mag fit in an 18”mod7 saum using v100. They performed well in close and out to a tad over 500yd(longest shot I did with the short barrel) on everything. IMHO they are a good...
Have you tried Reloading Direct in Hamilton? They were showing primers in stock the other day when I looked
I've got a 18v Makita with a 10" bar. Goes very well within reason for its size, goes through most stuff easily, surprisingly quite grunty. Only issue has has been trying to get a spare 1/4" chain...
Well Done
Try a marinade of olive oil, some crushed garlic and a good squeeze of lemon juice in the fridge for a couple of days and see how that goes, the lemon juice can pull game flavour out some quite rutty...
First time back into duck shooting in 6 or 7 years. Shot out of a work mates unused maimai on a Waikato public lake with another mate on his very first opening. Heaps of fun, even managed to call a...
I shot a Ngaroto opening, could see walkers on the track from our Mai Mai most of the day including one couple clearly visible on the track behind a stand while a bit of action was going on…..not...
H&F or the like sell decoy string for $20 a 500ft reel, enuf to do plenty. Doesn't seem too prone to tangles if everything is wound up in a tidy fashion, and a bit of car tyre inner tube attached...
Bloody cool, they roaring well?
Does the turret change height as you dial up/down on that model VX6? Is it possible to fit a shim under the turret so it cant go down more than 1/2 a turn past zero once sighted in?
Awesome, a lifetime memory there
+1 had a 4-16 vortex viper HS with covered turrets on my saum for a long time. Never had an issue in the bush on 4x, it dialled well and 16x was plenty for longer shots(500-600yd). Good scope, quite...
