Thanks all
Yep aware of the speed with age matter. Planning on getting a load sorted and running drops off that then checking velocity after 100 rounds or so to see if I need to adjust.

Probably 36-42 across both powders I expect
Thanks for the replies, the guys at the shop said no need to break in the barrel.
I'm more interested in being sure I get good results from the ladder tests.
Hi All
Have just picked up a new Tikka T3x lite in 6.5PRC.
Planning on doing ladders with 143gr ELDx and 2217 and Super performance to find a good accuracy node at the best safe load/velocity I...
WTF @mods kill this thread and contact police and company. Sorry but why would you make this public, asking for trouble.
Thanks for the constructive input STC
Before someone jumps in. I have just seen some of the Tikka T3x come with factory muzzle brakes.
Thanks for the replies chaps.
Re Tikka - the Bergara comes with a brake, keen to know how good it is. Still a cost that does not need to be incurred. Have heard Tikkas are great out of the box.
Considering one in 6.5PRC
Interested in thoughts from anyone who has or has had one. Do they meet the accuracy claim, are robust and reliable etc.
Cheers

Thanks MB
I have seen a Fallow doe do the whole fake look away thing when I got busted on a Woodhill hunt. That time I stayed frozen and she eventually settled and went back to feeding. I think...
It's not just me then
Better luck next time Stug
Hi All
So I'm new to bow hunting, have shot a few goats but no deer.
Was away for the weekend with a couple of mates who were rifle hunting and me with the bow. I had a yearling hind come down...
If you mean pigeons a mate has tried them and said they were ok.
I'm a weird mix shoot a rifle and write LH play all other sports RH. Strongly left eye dominant due to eye issues as a wee one.
Taken up the bow at 49 so no spring chicken myself
SF90 I'm much the same. Left eye dominant and tried a RH bow to start because I favoured RH shooting. Changed to a LH bow and it all came together. It is a lot of fun
Was lucky to get an easy 10m shot at this guy. Was my first shot at an animal so happy it all went to plan. An Ali Express broadhead doing the damage, it's a rip off of the Montec G5 M3.
Had a...
I'm new as to bow hunting as well. My big lesson so far is understand your eye dominance and buy a LH or RH bow on that basis.
I ended up at Archery Direct (sorry they are NI) and Greg went...
Yeah and only $5 entry, I will go for a look
PSE stinger atk, running at about 50lb at present. Been pretty happy with my accuracy at 20m and have shot to 30m a bit, won't shoot anything further than 20m on this hunt.
What are you running?
Good work on the deer. My bow will get it's first walk this weekend. Have some standard slick trick 125gr broadheads to run.
Hey, I'm just starting out on the bow hunting journey so I'm interested in why you are looking to change. Is it for more weight or a performance issue.
I have some tusker broadheads if you are...
Sorry didn't read the title properly.
Haven't hunted that side but the bush should be ok. Yep find the sign and then slow right down, when you think you are going slow enough slow down some more.
If I was going in there would probably...
Results available now, no luck for me or my mate this year
