Has anyone ever seen one of these in NZ? I'm curious to know if an NZ gunsmith would go out on a limb to make one (just curious). I'd never heard of it to be honest. A bunch of questions come to mind though:
    - Is it the queen of barrel burners?
    - What of the dies? American custom perhaps...
    - Would it damage gongs of any hardness I wonder. Is there a boffin that can tell me the ft-lb inpact of a 140gn projectile with an MV of 3780ft/s??? This is hilarious

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Lapua 139gr at 3780 fps @ sea level.

    ft lbs at muzzle 4409
    at 500 yds 2590
    at 1000 yds 1390

If zerod at 100 yards it would need just 14.7 MOA to get to 1000 yards

And im not a boffin, its really easy to generate via shooter app ;-)

I have seen a 6.5-300 weatherby with a 40" barrel. Speed was in the 3600 if I remember well.

A guy told me yesterday that he is shooting 130's out of his .308 at 3800fps, so this is pretty average, haha

I overheard a conversation the other day where a guy was shooting an 8x57 Mauser with 180 grn round nose to 2.5 km on deer and nailing them.😆
