How many rounds is a Tikka action good for?

There has been much discussion on barrel life, my question is: How many barrel changes / total rounds is an action and bolt good for?

My T3 sporter is a target workhorse and is halfway through its second barrel.

I doubt you would ever wear out a bolt action. You would just need to occasionally replace a broken extractor/firing pin and springs.

That is good news. Ive not really seen many custom actions about. Keen to know if anyone has ever upgraded and found any dramatic changes in accuracy

Easiest and most common way to stuff a tikka is too replace the factory barrel with a nz made CF wrapped barrel like so many seem to do......

I know a gunsmith who worked on a Tikka that was destroyed by over pressure loads. These were worked up by a supposed commercial expert who then handed the ammo and formular to an unsusspecting customer. The bolt lugs had been driven back into the reciever causing cronic headspace problems. The reciever had stress cracks and had to be junked. Would this had been an issue in another brand of firearm I don't know. I know another shooter who had the same issue to a lesser extent when a hot batch of ADI AR2209 caught him out. There was a lot of machining involved to fix things up this rifle was also a Tikka.

I believe the life expectancy of a T3 in 7mm08 is directly related to the amount of Latte spilt on it while the owner strokes it.

As an aside, my ‘smith in the US has done hundreds of builds on Tikka actions. He told me that he has tested many and never found one that needed truing. His opinion is that any ‘Smith who does it is taking money for something that doesn’t need to be done.

I hope you dont have a business in NZ selling manufactured goods.
There are way more carbon wrapped barrels that shoot than ones that dont.

I'm sure if you talked to the people involved it would get sorted.

Ask the US Military on action life the Army and Marine corp armours have been rebuilding Remington 700 sniper rifles since the mid 1960's,
If the actions aren't shot with overloaded ammo and kept clean and the lugs lubed they should last a life time or two, it is the speed freaks that kill guns.
