    Primer thieves

I know there is a shortage of primers for sale at the moment but looking at the prices people want on the yellow site is so ridiculous.
Up to $1.50 per primer shows either supply and demand or more likely straight out greed.
You would think if you have too many primers that you could help others out rather than blatant robbery.

Couldn't agree more. The sick side of human nature ( some ) on full display.
Yes, I agree about helping out fellow shooters if in position to do so. Some of my best friends have needed components and I just gave what I could without wanting payment or we agree on items to swap. I'm happy to help as they would do the same in return. Otherwise I'm selective who I decide to help or not. Some would take your kindness or charity and exploit it by attempting to resell cheaply acquired items at higher prices

I listed some cci450s 1000packs for what they cost me. I didn't put a buynow up as I had to buy rl26 8lb from the yellow site for an extortionate price. So selling my 2 primers for what the market wanted to helped pay for 1/3 of what the rl26 cost me. I agree it's greed etc, and I hate it. But if I didn't have to pay a stupid price for rl26, I would of just let the primers go for what they cost me.

Why I just do my meat harvesting with a 223 and factory ammo.
Save my reloading components for comps and hunting trips away from my usual haunt

    Couple I'm watching https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketpl...ing/4208885107
Equivalent to $910 a thou. Bids in place. First bid $50.

    And https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketpl...ing/4214087225
Equivalent to a grand a thou. Bid in place. So seller set his start at $100.

The greedy are driven by bidders willing to bid. Yeah, I know they are probably between a rock and a hard place.
A lot of reloaders only buy a 100 at a time. They are the ones now caught out.

I've given 100s to mates as freebies with no expectation of any replacements.

It's amazing how greedy and money worshipping some of our fellow kiwis are.

No one forces you to pay that price - you CHOOSE to pay that price.

If its your choice , dont whinge later.

Does anyone know when we are likely to see more in the country?

Unofficially, I heard Federal primers are due here at the end of 2023.
A few weeks ago I believe a shipment of Fiocchi LR primers arrived. Wouldn't surprise me if they were all snapped up quick smart.

I’ve added fuel to the fire buying via trademe, just entering the reloading world and pretty hard to do anything without some primers.

Yeah its a bit rough when there is no supply about.
The economics of reloading are not good at the moment.
Seems to be more factory ammo appearing now

It's still appealing if you managed to squirral some components away before things went crazy. I never bought many but because I'm only a meat hunter I have enough for my needs for some years to come.
