Can be and mine is. The saami spec seems to be for a short action. Best in a medium or long action. Gives you room to seat the bullet out and more powder space.

Always good to see people using classic cartridges. Especially ones based on the great grandfather of all the 8x57 family and descendants.

I used a 8x57 on goats for years

Every time I fired it the rifle rang like a bell

Don’t even remember what it was but you couldn’t single load it

It had to be mag fed

They are good. I had some miss firing problems and found I was setting the shoulder too far back. My fault not the dies’.

It was a control feed action, the extractor encompasses most of the rim and won't pop over it the case needs to ride up under the extractor. I have a 9.3 and 3006 like that

Nice, the push feed action a better option than the Mauser based Hunter/Viscount that I used. If I slow stroked the bolt, the round would hang up with the controlled feed.

Yes it is. Not sure if they do them anymore. Bought mine about 3 years ago.

Anyone using 2209 or 2213sc ADI powders in 257 Ackley, ADI's load offering seem very limited other than max load.

Yes Tetawa, I have data from my rifle.
It has a 25 inch tube on a 98 action.

In .257 cal pills 87 and less are varmit construction.

So 100 and above is the go.
    In Win +P brass

    2209 - 51.5 gns - 100 gn Nosler BT - 3300 fps.

    2213 SC - 50 gns - 120 gn Speer - 2900 fps.

Start lower and work up, the 100 gn load is warm.
