    Early roars?

With the Southerly billowing through it's 9.5 degrees at my place. Up in the Tararuas it must be zeroor less. Does an unreasonable cold snap at this time of year trigger early oestrus in deer, or are the days still too long for that to happen, given it'll probably be hot again tomorrow?

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

Need a combination of low temp, diurnal temp, ratio of daylight to dark hours and girls/boys behaviour/smelling nice

Any one plus combinations thereof can light the fuse

    It’s never just one thing

    It’s currently 5 degrees here

frost on grass this morning...but far too many daylight hours for that sort of carry on yet...both fallow and reds still covered in velvet... had good red stag almost try to be my bonnet ornament....I just smiled and waved as kept driving past him and his six mates!!!

That's because new hunters start out every year mate and have no experience to draw upon

Most stags on the west coast haven’t even stripped velvet yet let alone started roaring
