    Roe buck hunt UK

    Hi guys,
I'm going to be in the UK July next year and thought it would be cool to have a crack at a Roe buck. Does any one have any experience with any reasonably priced guides that could get me in to one? I wouldn't be looking for big hank, just something with a bit of antler.
    Cheers,
    Josh

Any general advice about guided hunts, what to take, expected costs etc would be good too. It'll be a first for me!

One of my kids is guiding over there now.
She will be home next weekend. So if you PM me your details I'll get her to contact you with some options.

Don't rule out stalking muntjac deer too. They are fascinating little things - always busy, easy to handle, and great to eat. They can be called too, which makes it fun.

Borrowed this from Accurate Reloading, another site I frequent. This outfitter provides UK hunts. Just another option if you are checking out outfitters. Seems to have a reasonable name but please do your own homework.

Join the UK equivalent of this forum...The Stalking Directory....introduce yerself and ask for help finding a guide...if you can maybe offer help in return for hooking UK folk up with hunting in NZ i am sure you will get a few offers to stalk come your way.
Roe are a beautiful deer and are not difficult to hunt....It get's light in July bloody early....most guides charge per outing....probably around £200 for 4 or 5 hours....You really want to be on the ground at 4am and if you are out in the evening you could be taking a shot up to around 10pm.
Medal bucks can be expensive but if you are going out on a paid hunt make sure you have a discussion about costs well in advance. Loads of Roe in Scotland but very few in Wales. Some paid stalks may involve simply sitting in a high seat....plenty of flies and midges about so be prepared to get repellent and a cheap as chips midge face veil thingy....last thing you want is to be uncomfortable and having to make unnecessary hand movements swatting beasties away....

July is the Roe rut, don’t forget to tip your Stalker/ Guide.

As a general rule you won’t get any of Venison without paying per kilo.
Heym 7mm rem mag 20 yards taken in Cotswolds.

    Muntjac are cool trophy too.
