I would probably now go for an o/u combination gun, top barrel in 7x57 and bottom in 20ga, express sights and a 2-8x32 in qd rings.

    Would sort NZ hunting nicely

True but rabbit pie ain't my favorite. Most calibers can work as a one for all rifle at a pinch, i would rather be over gunned on small game than under gunned on the bigger stuff or the distant ones. Lucky we aren't limited to just one.

I’m loving the diversity shown in everyone’s different choice here! It’s bloody good to see, because how boring would life be if we all just went for the same thing....

And just to clarify, I’m not a mole working for you know who.

My 223 is great for wallabys and goats but my 6.5 is great for deer and thar, so if i could only pick one id prob go in the middle and go back to what i started with, the 243. Can do it all at sensible ranges.

Well I'm going to go off the deep end and say my 338 lm.
Full carbon so not to heavy to carry and can do it all at pretty much any range.
    Just so expensive to feed.....
But possibly overkill on bunnies ... Maybe...
