    ladyshaver (remington) 783

    any good as a starter rifle for a new hunter coming up thru the ranks? any issues with them (quality or niggles) watching one on the yellow site

    Hi Scott. I've worked on some, they are accurate enough, price is generally good.

    The main complaint: difficult to extract case after firing. Ask about it before buying.

    google says 3.4kg bare ........heavy i guess for a synthetic modern rifle .....about the same as my 8mm and lighter than my 336........... so not a deal breaker

    is this due to the smaller ejection port or is there another (mechanical)factor?

    Mine with a thermal scope and suppresser is 5.3kg
