Ok Guys I have a problem

While at the range today I sighted in my 7mm rem mag since I just got the Z5 scope back from getting fixed.

Problem is I fired at the target and it was just right of the target holder and low so I had to do around 30 clicks left and similar amount high to get it onto the bulls eye at 100 meters problem was it was now on full elevation so once turrets were added I could not adjust any higher.

    100 meter 7mm rem mag

When I put the scope back on the riffle the bases were still on the riffle so I only had to put scope back on and tighten, eye relief good etc.

Have I overlooked something? or is there a problem with the scope? I would have thought it should just do up and maybe a slight adjustment.

What do you guys think? Any ideas?

If its been pulled apart who knows where the zero is at?
Dial it in and dial up and around and see how it tracks.

Yeah when you do the intial sighting in you remove the turrets, once sighted to desired distance you add the turrets and screw them down then when you want to shoot say 200 or 300 meters you turn the turrets around to desired distance. Problem is the elevation is maxed out, maybe I have missed something.

Is this a CDS type turret, hence the 'remove the turrets'... and dial in for zero? Not familiar with Z5 sorry... Does it have a zero stop that needs moving / re zeroing?

First step is to set the adjustments to the optical axis of the scope.
Make a scope holder like this:

Apologies if it looks too big - ive uploaded the original file.
Put the tube resting in the two V and point at an object in the e distance. Can be like 20m. Spin the scope in the Vs and the cross hair will move round in a circle. Adjust the dials till it sits still then the crosshair is in the middle of the tube. Then you can refix the dials however swaro does it. On scopeswith a zero setting you may notbe able to adjust down after you fix the turrets so will have to loosen and turn without them if your shots are high. At this point you need someone who knows how the Z5 zero system works.

Ok I had a blonde moment at the range.

I should have turned the inside black peice with the tool provided but instead I turned the outer peice so once I put the turrets back on I had already used up my elevation. My bad!
All is well now Guys. Sorry for the false alarm he he

For what it's worth I take the turret off during zeroing as I has to be put back on lined up at the zero mark anyways

Not to say this will solve it. Wuite rarely the scope base or rings are off skew but it has to be a long way off. Likecmismatched tings or a stepped action. Even rarer the barrel can be not straight to the action. Occasionally the scope has been wound past its adjustments and no longer dials. This optical axis yest will sort that out.
