Exactly, particularly the square drives which I mostly use.

The other thing is how do you know whether tips are S2 or Chrome moly? Looking at Makita inpact driver tips, which I would expect to be S2, and their site says nothing about the material used.

You're reading too much into this Zimmer: S2 = No.2 size square

GFB bits are the ones you want. No matter what the brand you want them to be long - like 150mm and with a thin round cross section. The length and thinness allows the bit to load up in the screw when using an impact driver and impart that torque to the screw. Short, fat driver bits try to jump out and that's what rounds them off.
    TeRei and Beaker like this.

Yes, the longer bits make any wonky hold far more apparent to the user, so that they can correct their hold and get the bit squarer, therefore deeper into the screw head.

    Ah, eureka, SQ1, 2 and 3. Now I underconstumble.
My choice is Makita. (Partially because I recently lashed out and bought a Makita drill and impact driver set.)
The worst bits I had was the long Irwins. They munted SS square drive screws in no time at all. Too much taper on the tips and they didn't fit well into the screw heads.

Older designation is R1,2,3 - for Robertson Square Drive... Useless info haha!
