    Albacore South Island

Been reading up on albies and sounds like can catch them off kaiks and even canterbury bays . Obviously in blue water . Firstly anyone chase them down here and secondly are the eatable , I'm reading they got heaps of mercury ? . I'm reading they easy to catch when you do get on to them .

Beautiful eating, supposed to be chicken of the sea. But to me it doesn't taste like chicken, more like fish.

They are great eating and are mainly what you get in tinned tuna anyway.
I chase them off Haast in Jan-Feb

Mostly Skippy in tinned tuna isn't it?
Either way, great fun to catch. @Munsey. Find a likely spot and troll that lure I left on your boat in Kaiks. Around 6 knots should do it
