    Mavic Pro Drone went swimming

I posted this ona Fishing Forum , so put i here as well for as much input that I can get

Was out at Pukehina hte other day , on first cast , the drone took a dive , reeled in the drone and immediately took to my electronics guru, short answer it was terminal.
The drone I had was a Mavic Pro 2 with 2 batteries , and the flash screen, no need for the phone .
So Q is what do I do now, some choices are :
Buy a new Mavic Pro 2 , and utilise the gear I already have.
Buy a new drone , perhaps an Aeroo Pro , being released soon.
Or buy a secondhand Swellpro 2nd hand under $2000
Buy an Autel again 2nd hand under $2000.
These are hte options I thought of , perhaps there are ohters.
Let me know , below hte Aeroo Pro page

    https://aeroodrones.com/en-nz/

Look forward to the ideas you guys haveosted htis on a fishing forum , thought it

I have only heard horror stories about swellpro, regardless of the model. Both from a product standpoint, and from support.
The Aeroo drones were quite simply the worst you could buy in regards to a fishing drone. Our coastline is littered with them. Waiting to see if the pro models are more "capable".
Gut feeling would be to grab another Mavic 2 pro/zoom, as you already have the nice controller, and a spare battery.
From my dealings with fishing drones over the years, and spending quite a bit of time building / repairing them, it is apparent that cost does not equal reliability. Maybe with the exception of AeroKontiki drones, which are the top tier in fishing drones.
Of the midrange fishing drones, the one that I have had to do the least with in regards to service and repair is the Shark X drone.
The one I have had to spend the most time on is a Trident 5000.
The list of drones I would buy is a short one.
DJI Mavic 2 is on that list.

No ideas but I heard someone lost their drone out at Kaiaua last weekend. Fell into the drink on the way back after the line had been released

Get another mavic 2 pro. Very good drones those, especially since you've already got the big remote... and probably got extra batteries?
Wonder if it'd be worth looking for a 2nd hand drone?
The camera on that mavic 2 is very excellent I've found. Much more than just a fishing drone.

Before springing for a new drone, what made it fall out the sky? Range? Comms? Weight? Make sure the replacement doesn't also go for a swim.

And +1 that the Mavic Pros are great drones!
