I'm a big fan of the X-bolt. It's what I bought and funds weren't an issue. Give it a try in the shop, it has some really nice features. Mag sits flush and is rotary so usually holds 1 more round...

If you're not going to reload i'd say stick to 308. So much more off the shelf selection in every shop. Can take quite a few packs to find the round she likes...and if you're limited to only a few...
