Other way round, W748 is actually slightly slower than 2208. However slower powders can often give more velocity in short barrels. IE i use 7828ssc (and its way slower again) in my dads 18.5" 243...

I use 43-43.5g of AR2208 in my 22" barrel 7mm08 with 130-140gr projectiles.

Also have a 15" barreled 7mm08, which i use CFE223 to get a 120gr Nosler Ballistic tip doing 2900.
