It doesn't matter how many times you claim to understand the purpose of Testing, or how much you claim to support it, your own comments / opinion on the subject show for all that you clearly do not...
The objective of Testing is completely different to Trialing. Just because you don't understand the difference or the objective of Testing, doesnt make it (Testing) or the results from it of lesser...
Here you go then....despite your alleged 'support' of Testing and having never seen or participated in it, you suggest that it is inferior. In actual fact, it is simply different in terms of how...
I think there is only one Preserve that the Spaniel folk Trial on in the SI, the rest of the trials are primarily on rabbits.
Hahaha, how hypocritcal! I recall you running down the Versatile Testing systems without even having seen them, let alone run in them! Oh what a short memory some people have.
Nice report. Robyn certainly sets the benchmark to try and achieve. Dave's dog's are normally a bit more sound than that...presumably they didn't appreciate being left at home while he went overseas...
Your memory fails you then....and this is just in this thread, let alone the others where you've rolled it out.
I think you'll find that most people are a bit more pragmatic about what they...
No hypocrisy.....I've never referred to anyone as a ditch digger.
The abomination that is wearing a flatcap backwards! And you had the cheek to berate us 'ditch diggers' for not having sufficient style....oh the humanity!
Oh dear. A Flatcap being worn backwards! Evidence that your taste is all in your mouth!:XD: any wonder your dog chewed it up after that abomination!
Yeah, Spaniel Trials run both during the season and outside it, so they shoot gamebirds when in season and rabbits / hares etc when outside of the season. So the retrieve is on hot, freshly shot (and...
I suggest you get it right.....your comments are offensive to many whose abilities (and that of their dogs) are to be respected, regardless of what they wear.
It's a bit hard to engender camaraderie when you refer to others as 'ditch diggers' and 'low brow' based on the clothing they choose to wear.
More than a few options available, depending on your requirements.

Edit...Nice post Petros!
The dogs were placed 1st and 2nd respectively. Just no Challenge point as the 1st place wasn't up to that standard. Watching the run, I'd say it was a fair call by the judges.
Not sure about the morning trial on Saturday, but Robyn was 1st and 2nd on the afternoon trial with a strong display from her young pup. No Challenge point awarded though.
The birds were provided by Rathmoy and looked after by Tony Connor. However, since the Connor's moved to Rotorua, there is no-one to take up the job.
Despite the public access to Waitotara, there...
Trialing at Waitotara, there are more rabbits than pheasants and quail, yet results are still achieved. In fact the Working Spaniel Club, whose mainstay is rabbits, compete there just as regularly as...
I think it would be most appropriate if a NI contingent made its way south to test these grounds Wirehunt.....for research purposes of course :-)
The SI is filthy with Quail. Plus if the NZVHDTA can find grounds to hold Tests on birds (pheasants), then the P&S can too.
Pigeon Trial or Live Game?
I already run my dog in P&S Trials and have tested in the NZVHDTA system as far as it is possible to. But I'm keen to be involved in developing an HPR Trial if required.
HPR Trials? I'm in!
Ryen would have a better idea than I, but I think that land is possibly public? Or perhaps its private but access is relatively easy to obtain? So it sounds like it can get quite a lot of pressure...
Do you mean Waitotara?
