Well I think the quality of the high B.C. bullets is unquestioned

I will follow up on this barrel
But a 1:8" might be the happy place for a do everything 308

i run a 1-8 twist 18" 308, mainly went that way to run the lehigh 168 subsonic projectile. also use the 165 sst for high velocity rounds at 2600 fps

If you want to run subs (which for better or worse I seem dead set on trying) the best powder option for 308 by far is trail boss.
With the availability of it currently being terrible, and it only forcast to get more scarce, it's not the best option if subsonics are on the menu.

Yep. Trailboss works indeed very well for subsonic loads for 308. Was lucky to be able to get some and am set, but i see what you mean.

Hopefullt this not only means that other more obscure ADI powders will be back in production.

Equally as important we won't all being drafted into WW3.

I have a 1-7” twist 308 improved case 18” barrel on a Remington goes extremely well with subs or supers
I run the 178 eld-x in it works extremely well but at high velocities it is a bit hard
On thin jacketed projectiles in the 95-130 varmint range they hold together
But are very explosive on impact

I run a 8.6 blackout with a 1-1” so is amazing how quick a twist you can make do with
At the speeds that cases around that size create it causes a spiral effect in the meat as it cuts its wound
Channel and can only run copper so expensive to run but very effective

But 1-7” or 1-8” at any speeds a 308 can pull can’t see there being much difference and
Both working well from experience or with customers experience playing with stuff they have
    Had built
