An anecdote. I shot a good sized boar at 189 metres. A Sako Gamehead Pro 165gr neatly broke the foreleg just below the scapula without doing much other damage. The pig didn't seem too perturbed and needed a follow up shot to the neck. I've also noticed that goats aren't falling down as fast as they should with a .308.

Interesting I found them awesome on goats. This was the 150 pro at 150 yards. Dropped on the spot. Dogs 30kg for size ref.

I think so.. I shot a big stag at 470y high on the shoulder and the bullet was about 4inchs from exiting the other shoulder

    Sako 90 peak has a 22.4” barrel.

There are two sorts of gamehead pro 165 gr with different BC stated.

What were your points of impact , group sizes and number of shots at different distances that you used to true the velocity ?

Well you sound like a fella who might take suggestions seriously.so here is a seriously intended suggestion. Buy a box of bog std Winchester PowerPoint in 180 GRN for bush work.even if you fill magazine with normal loads. I found they kill simply awesomely and recoil is mild. Bloody trails reminded me of bucket of paint and a 6" paintbrush. From chest hit stag. I shot sleeping pig all of about 70lb at about twenty yards...in beside eye, through skull, through neck bones into shoulder and found under skin weighing 111 grns. You simply can't ask for better than that.

This is 2 bullets recoverd from shoulder shots at around 350y, there's no lead left in them I think the lead just punched through and exists leaving the jacket under the skin
