interesting...I was under impression from your posts that you mainly hunt in bush country where ranges were sub hundred yards.....the winchester bog std 180grn power point load is awesome in .308 for that so should be just as awesome in 30-06 .MOST people drop down to 130s for little deer like fallow or goats or for a youth loading,but for no other reason,the lighter projectiles dont do anything the heavies cant do better...except expand and cause more damage quicker at expense of penertration.
