I've had a couple of different Tikka .223 and now a sako.223 and they all just shoot 5 shit 10 shot groups it doesn't matter I've never seen a dud.
I should have plenty of Tikka targets somewhere but this is my Sako pretty much same barrel.
It will do this all day with that load as would my Tikka.223.

Not so much now I bet.

    Exactly

The same with the NZ made Howa mini chassis which I like. It's the gun that puts me off. Like (as we used to say) the traffic cop who married a prostitute - he dragged her down to his level

Is that factory ammo? Foster has shown with tuned handloads the Howa's will shoot very well
It's not all of them, but it's always them.

With the exception of the excellent Mk262 equivalent that Belmont used to load. I would have bought 20 tins of it if I had the foresight.

Yup. I would say it was the most accurate factory 223 ammo I ever used. You couldn't even buy the projectiles for the price they were selling loaded ammo for. You don't realize they're the good old days until they're gone.

From the couple that I have data on, they seem to be on par with the other factory options really, maybe a fraction better. Shoot poorly with most, but well with a load they like, and people pick that one to talk about and forget the rest.

    Here's the data:

    N=

    12x 10rd groups with HNW
    8x 10rd groups with HPR
    23x 10rd groups with HFP
19x 10rd groups with Tikka (factory ammo)

Howas are a mix of factory and handloads, probably why they've performed slightly better vs the tikka with all factory

That's interesting I've not seen that from a Tikka of any caliber I've had but I've also never used factory ammo.
