My 1:9 M7 wont stabilise the 62 grn Makers. 4" groups.
You just gotta try things to find out.
Mind you, the Maker holes were nice and round so maybe its that the rifle simply doesn't like them.
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
Seating dies, are you guys using anything fancy like vld stems? Or just standard seating stems?
I'm using whatever came with the Redding Competition Seater and it is fine with 77gr TMKs. Haven't tried heavy ELDMs
My impression is that, over the last 5/10 years, die manufacturers MAY have recognised the trend toward long tipped projectiles and made minor changes to seater stems.
Try before you buy.
This is the beast here.
Not overly impressed with the 55 grain VMAX Fiocchi ammo, sample packs have arrived and dies should arrive tomorrow with a bit of luck.
First groups with the above mentioned ammo.
One on the right was at the local range off a bipod on the bench and the left is over the pack in the paddock. Both at 100 meters. I had retorqued the action screws in-between sessions up to the factory spec.
Yes it's the first ammo I tried, almost went and bought a different ammo but ordered dies and sample packs instead![]()
Well the 75 grain ELDM are no good, they were going sideways at 100m.
The 69 grain and 80 grain targex I am going g to persist with. I've got some 73 grain ELDM and 62 grain ELDVT to try as well, should get them loaded over the weekend and trialled on Monday.
It may pay to run some factory 55 or 60 just to see if it's capable of good groups I assume it has a 1 MOA guarantee.
I would want to see if the rifle is capable of good groups first before wasting good home loads.
