I see no reason to move away from the ELDs due to cost in my creed Ive run 130-147 ELDs and liked them all i did have a couple 147s n9t expand as much as some would have guessed but i shot a lot of them so maybe its just a large sample size. I did quite like the 130TMKs killing but on paper they are technically worse. If you had to try something to experiment id try the 130TMKs. I have a partial box left If you wanted them. Or theres a 153 TMK coming out soon.

I’ve grabbed a box of 143 eld-x to try , to be fair I’ve seen heaps of deer killed with the 140 but have seen quite a few get away to but I don’t need much of a read to change

I run 135 Berger Classic Hunters. No complaints, recipients don't like

Shooting a Sako 85 1:8 260 with 20" barrel. I started with the 143 ELD-X and found them pretty decent accuracy wise and had solid pass through performance on fallow and small reds. The option for some 130g Bergers popped up so moved over to them and they are definitely more accurate from my rifle. The first animal that I shot was a medium size red stag at about 60m. It was a bit of a rushed offhand shot but felt really good about it. Went up the bank to where I saw him and not a drop of blood, immediate panic. Looked 10m back down the bank and he was as dead as they get. The Berger went in and did what Bergers do which is explode. Downside is that the small impact hole immediately clogged and didn't leak anything at all. When I opened him up, the internals were destroyed. I've had the exact same performance on fallow. A good shot just behind the shoulder drops them fast and destroys the internals but no blood trail or exit hole. I'm a bit on the fence as the ELD-X did a fair bit of damage and left a nice blood trail but the Bergers just get the job done with almost no meat loss. I suspect I'll continue using the Bergers on Fallow but more back to the ELD-X for reds or bush hunting just so I can get a blood trail in the tight stuff.

I have had the same experience with 147 ELD-M in my 6.5SAUM too, seems to hold together more than some of the other ELD-Ms (140 6.5, 162 7mm or 208 30 cal). Very accurate but have had a few times where they haven’t come apart like I would expect on lighter animals with heart/lung shots.
Very effective on larger animals or once they disrupt on bone.

156 Berger is my current preference, but like the 147 getting a bit heavy for a creed?

I use the eldx in the same rifle they work well never had issues with penciling but I hit bone when I can.
I tried 130 Berger shot a red hind twice and ran away like it wasn't hit mate had to shoot it with his 708.
So Berger's are a no for me.

    In a 260 I've used
    123 SST
    129 SST
    129 Interlock
    143 Norma Bondstrike
    143 ELDX
    156 Norma Oryx
    156 Norma Vulcan

They all worked, but after trimming the barrel to 16.5" I went to the 123 SST to help overcome less velocity, and they were great. Cheap, good accuracy, opened at 500m+ and still killed well up close. Inside 300m the Oryx were also awesome, but they have a remarkably poor bc so aren't meant for the longs.
I'm now a big fan of the Bondstrike, but they are sometimes hard to get.

    120gn speer gold dot
    140gn speer gold dot
    130 game king
    123 edlm
    120 pro hunter

Ive shot deer and or goats with the above from both 260 and creedmoor all fantastic options
But the 120 gold dot (or the 140) are my favs
They are like a remington coreloct but with a far better bc
The bc is actually pretty good for a soft point hunting bullet

My son has just got a 260 and I have loaded Nosler 140 BTs, accuracy is good and at about 2680 MV should get the job done. The projectiles were on special at Reloaders so grabbed 3 packets. Does anyone here use the Nosler 140 BT and what sort of results on game?
    Many thanks Ruger7mm

Running 42.0 grains of RE 16, which is probably become very hard to find so will try something else. Have got 50 loaded for the son so should keep him out of trouble for a little while. Will probably look to Superformance when the time comes.

50 should keep him going for 5min.
Hodgdon Superperformance powder is a great powder for the .260.

    100s and 120s NBT. I just bought 1000 120s and 500 100gr. I’ve killed with 129 SST, 120 TSX, 120 Core-Lokt and 140 core-lokt and 140 NBT along with the bullets I just bought. I’ve settled on the 100 and 120 NBTs after experimenting with the others.
