My standard .260 with a 20" barrel is only 40fps behind and just as accurate.

What bullets where you running at 2900fps?

Edit I am buying a tikka t3x now with 22inch barrel. So little less velocity, but I like the tikka more than the howa. Both awesome brands

My Tikka .260imp and my standard Tikka I've run Hornady 143 ELDX .
The imp had a 22" barrel and the standard version had a 18" and 20" with the imp version I could get 2920fps vs the 20" standard version at 2860fps.
My imp had a longer throat and the bullets were seated way out with long mag and bolt stop.
The others are factory Tikka with a long mag and bolt stop fitted.
