Thread: .270 ELD-X Load Advice Please

G’Day Blokes,

Anyone loading ELD-X in .270 out there? I don’t have any experience with this chambering but seem to have bought a CDL SF on a whim. Which powders are the go, and what sort of velocity might I get from a 24” barrel?

Guys are getting awesome speeds out of superformice
Currently developing a load for a mates rem700
Using superformice and the 145 eldx
Speed certainly there 2850-2900 from his 18 inch barrel
Accuracy has been the tough part (in this rifle)
Started out at 1.5-2 inches at 100
A few adjustments has seen the group’s Shrink to just a hair over half an inch
So it’s getting there if I can get it to shoot consistently at 1/2 inch or better at 2850+ that’s the goal

Just search the threads; this has been done to death

Use either Hodgdon superprofrmance or RL26 you will be over3000fps with your 24" barrel.

59.5grs of 2213sc gives me 2940fps out of a 22inch barrel with suppressor. Shoots 3/4inch @100yds.
