I always assume potential shooting out to 400 yds when I take my 270W hunting. I developed handloads to give me dependable drop and accuracy from 300 to 400 yds. Mostly I'm shooting 130 gn Hornady bullets ( mostly Interbond but some SST ). AR2213sc gave me both the velocities and consistency to allow confident shooting on game ( mostly goats and some deer ) at such distances.
Have also found RL17 very good but as you say current unavailability doesn't help you. At least Ar2213sc has remained in quite good supply.

AR2213 was an earlier, faster and now obsolete powder. The same goes for AR2206 and AR2206H.

Way back, when AR2213 was changed to AR2213sc, I did some comparative testing of my own 243W and 270W loads using both powder variants and exactly the same charges. Found absoloutely no difference. But the advatage with the sc, as noted, was far easier metering through my powder thrower. To this day though I still individually check weigh every single charge. But I do like the sc. Good stuff.

IIRC I tried some quite a while ago, probably with 130 gn bullets. Pretty sure compared to AR2213sc there was a lot of velocity loss.
Maybe a better bet with heavier bullets like 140 and 150 gn ?
