Would depend on projectile weight surely ?
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I run 30-30 projectiles in my 16.5" Bergara 308, only pushing them at 2350fps.

    PPU factory 150gr 308 ammo does 2610fps.

    Hornady 150 sst
Mild load but extremely accurate out of a 16 inch barrel.
    Hotter load 2730 still accurate.
Plent for most of my shooting under 200 yards

As above. Just shy of 3K with a 125AB and just shy of 2550 with a 168 ELD-M.

OK I will type this slowly......WHO CARES???? IT DOESNT MATTER.

the deer at true bush ranges..sub hundred yards sure as hell wont.... the very best factory .308 load for bush/close range work is bog standard 180grn winchester power points......

if you are above 2200fps you are better than the .30/30 and NOBODY complains about how well it has killed deer for how many years now????

Some people obviously do care and just because it is a bush pig doesn't mean you have to use it at "bush" ranges. I know I can reach out with mine if necessary and with modern high BC projectiles and dial up scopes it makes the 30-30 look pretty lame when you take it to the tops. And you really don't have to SHOUT, even if you do type slowly.
