I shot a lot of game with my old Remington 375 H&H that ended up with a SS 20 inch barrel & Lam stock a client gifted me . I used it both in the Top End of Oz & Africa for guiding ,l would use it to gain skills for quick , off hand, bush shooting for Africa while we were culling mobs of Brumbies,Donkeys,Pigs & Scrubbers in the Top End off our Dry Season camps before moving to our Wet Season camp.I would take 50 rounds of H with me for a couple of days culling & use it when ever we bombed up critters in thick scrub to gain the practice,my guess is that rifle took over 600 head while l had it.

Mind you this was probably 1/2 dozen Gun Grab/Ammo panic buying Apocalypse ago now, so what is available now will be the killer.

My favorite load for Plains Game & also took Sambar,Moose, Caribou& Elk & what l used for all the above-

    - 250 grain TTSX on top of 76 grains of RL15 gave 2800 FPS with orig barrel, in the very hot conditions .This was a extremely mild load to shoot (IMO no different from my 270WSM or 06 with heavy bullets) & gave trajectory like a 06 with heavy bullet & IMO the perfect load for here & gaining time behind the But on the H while using it in the field .

I would use this for PG with clients who were scared of their own latest muzzle braked ,Dinosaur killer the in crowd were using, max range l used was 250 yards (personal choice),this was a nice accurate load with 3 shots just on or under 1 1/4 MOA ,it also allowed shoulder hold all the way out to 200 yards with 1"under at 25yd ,+ 1/4 inch at 100,minus 6 1/2 at 200 .

    - another good load for deer, pigs etc

    - 86gn of W-760 pushing the 235gn Speer at 2828 fps shot 1 1/4 MOA

As always start off a couple of grains below & work up to what suits your own gun & l would case trim every other reload to stop the H prob of case separation .
    mawzer308 and csmiffy like this.
