    6.5 CM / 129SST / 2209 Data ?

I’m about to load up some 6.5 CM with Hornady 129 SST projectiles and 2209 Powder .
Looking at the ADI website for the 2209 load data they recommend starting 35.2 and max 39.2 which seems like a very low powder window when you consider that I’m using just North of 42gn of 2209 with the 143eldx ?
I’m also loading out to a OAL of 2.80 inches to try and combat the excessively long throat on the Tikka so there’s a quite a lot of space left in the case with such a low powder charge .

Anyone using this projectile/powder combo and what are your charge weights.

I developed two loads with 2209 and 130 ELD-Ms in my 6.5cm, at 42.5 and 44gr. I think the 44gr load was a little spicy but I worked up to it and wasn't getting wny major pressure signs.

A max of 39gr is very low, I'd go up to 43 without any concerns. My 147gr load is 42.2 gr.

    Greetings,
The Hodgdon data is for the 130 grain AB Nosler projectile which is harder than the 129 grain SST. Nosler lists a max load of 43 grains for the 130 AB and the harder still 129 grain ABLR so the Hodgdon data does not look light to me. Hornady should list data for the SST in their manual which would be interesting. IN MY 6.5x55 I use 45.5 grains of AR2209 with the 129 grain SST for a little over 2,800 fps so 43 grains in the Creedmoor sounds reasonable. I think that the Hodgdon/ADI data is an outlier so I would use the Nosler data or Hornady if you can find it and start with their start load and chronograph to validate the data.
    Regards GPM.
PS Hornady lists 42.8 grains max of AR2209/H4350 with the 129 grain GMAX, SST or Interlock for 2,725 fps.

Correction the Hodgdon data does look light.
