Load to 58.2gr gets compressed round is that ok? I assume it was because it’s virgin brass not fire formed so may loose a bit of capacity. I’m not an expert so would like to hear more opinions. Cheers
I would just not run Compressed loads personally. Kiss is where its at for hunting loads. Deer isnt going to notice the 30fps difference. If you are running the 156 eol at 2700+ with good accuracy i would just call it done. You can kill any game animal in nz with that load from way further away than we should be shooting

I can get more than that out of my 20” 260 with hand loads (143/Superformance)
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

Speed is everything, thats like bling to girls, and why they keep reinventing the cartridges.

20" SA low recoil 600y gun that can kill reasonable reds, sika and fallow classed animal with factory ammo. What would you prefer over the 6.5 PRC?
    Addicted to gun powder

It has already punched out around 250 rounds since new, so has been 'broken-in', but we were only getting 2720fps from precision hunter out of the 22" barrel with a DPT suppressor.

Compared to the speeds you are getting @Williamfga its nearly 100fps difference.

Not a dig at the cartridge, rifles or anything, but I just find it interesting.
You're not wrong there, i just put up a post on the wild speed differences from 2 similar age .308, same ammo, suppressor and length. 125fps difference. think i might have got my 6.5 from when the tooling was new/cutters been changed Maby? wish i had put it across the radar at 22"

Getting 2900-2920 out of a 147 with SP out of the same gun so think it’s all relative really, factory ammo is slow no doubt

What are you getting with factory ammo? Oh wait there isnt any.. factory 6.5 creed will be at least 100fp slower again

Any step down cartridge can match sedate factory of the next step up if hotrodded. Lean on on the prc in the same way and you'll be 200fps ahead.

My prc runs 2900s with pretty much any class of bullet inside book data. Way rather have the larger capacity running at lower safe pressures than have to hotrod the smaller round.to achieve the same.

My heaviest load is almost compressed but havent got change to shoot recently. I'm pretty happy with the previous result, just want to test out where the limit is

Got my Bergara wilderness sierra in 6.5prc with 20" barrel out yesterday. Little bit of load development, zeroed it, loaded some final rounds then smacked a 510m gong and a 680m

Running a A-Tech H3 suppressor which soaks up the noise and makes it such a smooth shooter my 10yr old son smacked a bullseye at 100m
