    i recommend 6.5 x 39 :-)

Go for your 6.8 SPC Ryan it will be interesting to see how it performs. We can have an "alternative caliber AR shoot" at some stage.

I see you have looked on american sights.......look on the 6.8 forum and see what Xman has to say re the different types of projectiles ans how they preform terminally. the 110grn barns and one other (think its a 95grn) out preform the rest by country mile.
a man could do worse than using a 130grn partition for close up stuff......

why do you want copper bullets?

Since action / mag length is a limiting dimension here, A long bullet reduces powder capacity.

Where does it say that there are limits on those?

Reamer for what ever you dream up Ryan will be the possible problem. Someone might have a 6.8x51 (270/308)

Wonder how this would go chopped? It's a 243/260 case necked to .277 and 30 degree shoulder. Could it be chambered with a 260 30 degree improved reamer?

I went this way ( sort of ) with my 25/08 IMP which was a .243 opened to 25 cal with 40 degree shoulder.
Had this as my one gun for about 20 years awesome cal so can't see why a 270 /08 wouldn't be good also
