    73gr ELDM in 223

Hi does anyone have a load for a Tikka 1.8 twist using AR2206H powder and 73gr ELDM's?

I had a rough crack with 23gr, 23.5gr and finally 24gr. The 24gr's of powder was my best but not quite as good as I would like.
I noticed its right up there at max so thought I would ask the question to see if there was a good bugger or 2 here that might share with me their pet load.

    Kind regards

    Adam

I have just finished load development on my 1-8 twist 20inch barrel with 75gr eld m. I tried two powders 2208 and BM2. BM2 23.5 max gave me 2800fps. 2208 24.5gr gave me 2700fps. I stuck with the 2208 because it gave the lowest es and 3 bullets touching at 100. But the BM2 grouped good well. Hope this is of some help

Thank you so much, this is good info. I think another .2 of a grain and ill see if it improves or not, if it does then I won't be far off.

Thanks again for replying to this thread

    Greetings Adam,
I am loading 69 grain match kings ahead of 25 grains of AR2206H which chronographs 2,960 fps and gives excellent accuracy. The LOA is 57.5mm in my 1 in 8"" twist T3x. More important than the exact load is the velocity you are getting. Case capacity has a big efect in these smaller cases.

As grandpamac said it depends on your case I use adi brass and 62grn hornady btsp and tryed upto 26.2grn but got a good load at 25 and there is room for more powder. I also have some starline brass and at 25grn it is fill and slightly compressed with 69grn targex. All loaded with 2206h and in a t3x 1/8 20 inch barrel

I found BM2 was 200fps slower than 2206H. I use BM2 in 55-62gr max because of the lower speeds.
