ok, probably a bit quick for the long barrel
try 2225

If it shoots great at that speed then there is absolutely no reason that it shouldn’t shoot great at the faster speed intended for the cartridge. It’s not unreasonable to expect the cartridge to be accurate at the speed expected of it. 2900fps can be expected from a 20” rem mag. 2660 fps from a 24” rem mag is miles off the mark.

It should be over 3000fps with the 24”
I remember 3 or 4 years ago i helped a mate develop a load for his howa
I forget the exact load but it was 2225 and a 162
And from memory the speed was around 3020
With moa or better accuracy at 100

Do you or your mate have records of the load?

Perhaps the thread name should have been:

7mm rem mag, is it fast enough?

A. Yes.

But it will certainly do better, if you don't mind the recoil.
