I'm using 76 grns of 2217 pushin 165 hornady interlocks in my 308 Norma magnum with Norma brass. Appears to go quite well, not sure of speed but burns good and clean. Its the same shell as the 7rem mag.
    Ya can't park there mate.

I have a 1:9.5 twist so the 168gr Berger is out of the picture as they require a 1:10 or higher according to Gunworks' website.
I would try the 2217 but I can't find if it is more dense or not, Does anyone know how much they can squeeze in behind a 162?
Your barrel will be fine with the 168gr berger. I used both the 162 amax and 168 berger in my 1:9 twist trueflite barrel. There was no real difference between the two in terms of accuracy or performance on game. I use to use 71.8gr 2217 with the 168gr berger for 3075 fps from a 26" barrel

Aha, I see what you mean, I was looking at rate of twist or higher and thinking about it back to front. yes I can stabilise the 168 but not fast enough for the 180. Either way I'll just go with the 162 A-max.

162 gn SST or AMAX has worked well out of my T3 7 RM have used both 2217 and 2225. have gone back to 2217 for better accuracy

I have ordered a couple of boxes of a-max and a bottle of 2225, if I find I'm not getting the velocities I want I'll go ahead and get some 2217 for my next loads.
