    7mm08 120 gn Load

As a long time user of 140 gn BT’s in various 7mm’s I ditched them in the search for more speed. I played around with Barnes 120’s for a while. Shot a few deer with them but wasn’t convinced. I got hold of some 120gn ballistic tips finally. I’m using 45gns of 2208. Norma brass. Fed 215 primers. Shot two three shot groups last night. Am going to run through the chrono after tea. Will report back.

You will already know the story about their jacket thickness, they are a very reliable harvester of deer,

Pretty happy. Not as fast as I would have liked but extremely accurate. Great SD.

Curious, why the difference in impact point between the two groups? What did you change?

Another good projectile to try is 120 gr Sierra SP’s which we’ve been using on everything with great results

Sweet load. Bullets are really effective on deer.

Mine is 50grn 2209, norma brass CCI magnum primers. Can’t remember speed.

    A slight tangent.

Is the 6.5mm 120gr ballistic tip as effective as a bunting projectile as the 120gr 7mm?
