You get one of these Lee Case Trimmers (Cutter & Lock Stud):

and then a gauge and shellholder for your cartridge (45-70):

and then finally you need a inside/outside deburr tool just to clean up the burrs on each case after trimming:

Max case length for 45-70 is 2.105” so has a trim length of 2.095” (you can technically then reload until they reach 2.105” again. However, for consistency lots of people just trim every case everytime.
