Check Amazon eh. I got a lyman electronic one with a probe and it does the job well. Really cheap too considering what it does

Am very much looking fwd to this arriving soon. It's the only hollowpoint mould MP has in stock atm for the .458 fans. They do have a more sleek model but it's on backorder (and makes a lighter projectile).

No, and likely not accurate enough. Ideally a socket and thermocouple in through the side of the pan into the molten puddle would give you the most reliable reading - I've used a laser in the past and found them quite rubbish especially on gas rings as the melt source. The laser tends to get confused and end up trying to read the heat coming off everything as it's just too radiant with too much convecting heat to get a decent IR ping of the surface of the metal.
Only problem... raining outside so I can't fire up the melter
I make my own moulds for 45/70, and im using lead at around 10 to 14BHN depending on the mould also use the pencil check method it works fine, shooting out to 960 yards with open sights
