    The Gas Check reinforces the base when using high velocity loads also there is an improvement in accuracy when gas checking a bullet

    Thanks @shooternz At last I understand powder coating and how it works.I'm now going to give up the fiddling with cut bits of paper for that goes on for a few guns.

    They seat better I find and they also seem to keep the bore cleaner at high speed. But I don't reckon the blast melts the bases. Not from the unchecked bullets I've recovered from the dirt anyway.
