    Checking resized brass in chamber

    Hi,
I’m wanting to setup my full length sizing die like Erik Cortina does, google Erik Cortina full length sizing if your not sure what I’m talking about, in his short “how to set up your die” video he shows butting the brass in with the firing pin removed and the bolt handle being very light almost dropping on its own, then he puts some tape on the case and it doesn’t close.

I have a Kimber (controlled round feed) will this work on this rifle or does the big extractor or other bits change the feel?

    Thanks

Normally on a 700 action you would remove ejector and firing pin to do as EC suggests but NOT extractor however

Kimber if 8400 series is easy to remove firing pin if you really need to.

    Assuming its unloaded.

Cock action, apply safety to mid position so you can open bolt.

Remove bolt from action. Turn cocking piece anti clockwise from memory and it should unscrew.
    Reassemble in opposite manner.

They have no ejector unlike most modern actions, theirs is old school

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.
