Comparing Primers : White River Energetics LR vs Federal 210

The pic is mostly self explanatory. Rounds were shot over a Caldwell Chronograph ( sun screen type ) and velocities should not be taken as literal but comparing the figures is probably more useful.
Apart from the primers the load was simply something thrown together from components readily to hand, and a powder / bullet combination I have never used before. I picked a charge weight from a Hornady manual that was sub max but gave about 90% case fill. Each charge was individually weighed.
I know it's hardly an exhaustive test but for my purposes I consider it shows White River primers are looking up to the task and overall I would expect similar results to my standard Federal 210 primers. At this point I see no reason to not include some WRE primers in future load development.

Looks very promising. Just collected 1k myself today. Primers sorted for the next few years.

One of the positives of the current component shortage is that we are forced to try alternatives.

Sometimes you end up in a better place as a result

125fs ES vs 47fps ES with the WRE.
I know it's s random load but that's quite the improvement.

Good work sir. Thank you for posting these results.

It would also appear that the WRE primers are less affected by wind.......

The day was quite blustery but the range zone itself is remarkably sheltered. I would say wind was nota a factor.
The group shot with the WRE primers appear is tighter but whether this occurs consistently would require further comparative shooting. Still, great to see that they are not worse than the standard.

Yes, it looks good on paper. I think more comparative shooting would be required before we draw firm conclusions. Velocities from my Chronograph I tend to regard as helpfully indicative rather than precisely accurate. To explain, the day was overcast and conditions affect readings. A clear sky usually gives slightly faster velocities.
