Midsouth was running a Black Friday special on BR2's for $250/ case of 5000. No shipping or hazmat fees if you spent $300. Getting 2 cases at that price should take care of me for about 4 years. White River primers were about $350/case from Republic. You have to sort WRE primers, but they work well in my PRCW. They are a little hotter than the BR2's in my load testing (about 5-8 fps).

Watching availabilty on-line and at LGS's in the last 6 months, I'm sure that it will loosen up here soon also.
    Cheers

    "BR2's for $250/ case of 5000"

That has to be a typo?

Delivered to my brother's house on Wednesday in the US, because I'm here in NZ. Look at some of the messages on Accurate Shooter telling everyone to stock up. Don't know how Midsouth was selling them so cheap. Most other on-line retailers were over $100/1000 still.
    Cheers

    OK the US makes sense.

    In 2018 I paid $45aud for 1k.
If you applied CPI they would still be under $60aud.

    BTW.

Bit the bullet last week and topped off my primer stock with a thousand CCI 200, 400, and BR2’s. Along with powder I’m done for good now. Just got sick of playing powder/primer roulette, the endless wait times and supply shortages. Not what I signed up for up for as a retirement hobby.

We have 25,000 White River Energetics Small Rifle Primers to move.
Discounted to clearance prices = $199.90 per 1000 primers.

Thinking of stocking up but my current load is based on Fiocchi large rifle primers. How much effect would changing primers have on the load?

You may see a small change in velocity and/or pressure, but nothing else.

Beretta bought RWS from RUAG Ammotec in August of 2022. They wanted to add ammunition to their portfolio to go along with their arms sales. Beretta is building a plant under the NormaUSA brand that is supposed to be making primers for some of the brands now under the Beretta umbrella. Visiting the RWS website, they list most of the primers everyone wants, but every site that I have visited that lists them for sale is out of stock.

https://www.nammo.com/story/new-primer-factory/ Nammo is supposed to start making primers in late 2025/early 2026, which will help ease the backlog for quality primers.

https://www.ibjonline.com/2025/06/20...-160-new-jobs/ There is another primer manufacturer that will be starting operations in a few years. I have spoken to the CEO (hunter and reloader) about his vision for the company and distribution throughout the world. He said their standard primers will be as good as any match primers out there, and they will offer primers in their second phase of manufacturing that the consistency will be even better for the people shooting benchrest, F-class, etc....
    Cheers

Think primers are expensive and considering alternatives? Gun flints aren't exactly cheap either.
