I would also strongly, strongly suggest looking at a line conditioner for your power. Especially if you have anything else on the same circuit, or fluro tubes in the garage/reloading space.

Mine is setup and works phenomenally - I check a couple of charges on the GemPro next to it - but they generally are both bang on. Just want another one now so I can load back and forth between them.

Can you give me more details on a line conditioner? Where from expected cost maybe?

A guy at Harvey Norman was giving a punter the hard-sell on a power supply filter. Can't recall the price but it's the sort of thing that'd do the job for this

um the power is supplied via a plugin adapter? I'd not think a protection worth it or achieve anything, but I could be wrong?

I know when I got a laptop some years ago on interest free the finance company insisted DSE give me one for free, so I just have to wonder.

For something that is powered by a plug pack and internal electronic voltage regulation the line conditioner will do nothing. Typically the plug pack puts out 1.5x to 2x the voltage the device needs. We are talking equipment that is not realistically going to draw 15W. Spend your money more wisely.

I tried a UPS running in cold mode (AC off) but the electronic dispenser drew insufficient forward current for the UPS to stay on and it shut down after a set period. The line conditioner may do the same with insufficient fwd current to keep power transistors switched on.

It would simply be useless. There is zero benefit to be had. Most of the plug packs nowadays are switch mode power supplies and happily run for below 90V to above 260V. Check the advert Cambo put up and see what it is meant for. You are trying to solve a problem that does not exist.

If you read my post I am not proposing either device as a solution, I am saying they just won't run a small load at any rate. The weak point of the whole set up is the Switched Mode PS. It is pointless interposing other devices before the SM PS. The ultimate solution is probably a regulated battery supply. This same topic was hounded to death on the Oz F Class forum recently but more focused on protecting expensive digital scales rather than dispensers.

Yeah, that was just an example GM. Was the only 1 I could find quickly that had any sort of description of what it did.

My hornady one hates static, brought a anti static cloth that I give it a wipe with first then it's good to go

Haven't read through the thread, but just to put a plug in for the chargemaster combo - does what it says it will and has thrown very consistent charges...based on accuracy and SD too. Haven't used the others but without doubt can say best bit of reloading kit i have purchased.

So do fluro lights fuck with my digi scales gadget? Thats all i guess i was wondering
